I was drawn to this pack because of the solar charger. I do a lot of metal detecting in search of gold, which often leads me into dark mineshafts and canyons well away from civilization. Usually by myself. Hence I do a lot of hiking and rely on lights and other safety equipment to stay alive (GPS, cellphones, ECT.) This is definitely not the most comfortable or durable pack I have, but for one or two night trips that don’t involve more than a few mile hike in, this pack works great. I can charge my lights, detector, battery banks, and other equipment while hiking or kicking back and never have to worry about getting caught in the dark or losing a way to contact help in an emergency. What the pack lacks in comfort gets made up in the solar charger and price.

With two ports, it provides a total of 20 watts.

It is nice. I would not take it on a trip over three days. And I would not want to go wilderness camping with it or do heavy hiking. However, it is a very nice unit for non-extended trips. Some pros include lots of useful compression straps, light to moderately padded shoulder straps, a light to moderately padded hip strap, mesh on the back for added coolness, a chest strap on the front to increase shoulder strap comfort, and pockets on the waist strap that could hold keys, mace, etc. The bag has a solar panel, so no worries about your cell. The solar panel can be removed and rolled. The color is nice with three tones of black and gray. Some cons include the zippers seeming kind of jank as they don’t zip very easily, the weak whistle on the front which wouldn’t be heard in an emergency, the water bladder being in the main compartment which is not a good design since camping involves using pointy objects, and the inability to open the lower zipper compartment without going through the top, which is annoying. The back feels very cardboard’y. With these in mind, it might be the bag for you, or it might not.
