I honestly thought it would be bigger I did look at all the pictures….but brain to picture ratio for some reason still thought it was bigger. But that doesn’t matter with this thing, packs a LOUD punch for the sound and not bad sound either, I have other radios, and they are well lets say trash, this is not crisp clear sound, and really good tuning it doesn’t drift like others I have do right out of the box. What i REALLY love…WHICH NO PICTURES SHOWED….was the BATTERY COMPARTMENT….what the battery looked like how it was put in connected. I knew it was a 3.7v as the stickers showed so that means it was an 18650 which was great I have tons of those. 2000mAh is good, but i knew i could do better, 3000-3600mAh is what I wanted to shoot for, least more time on the radio, and longer lasting flashlight. SO I opened up with the REALLY small screws…IT IS REPLACEABLE!!!!!! SO I TOOK A PICTURE!! They even corded it! and PLUGGED IT! Because this makes it SO Much Easier to spot weld then solder the to the tabs a new battery. (If you do do this do not break the battery control circuit, or battery management system…BMS that is attached to the battery you need this if one isn’t in the 18650 you have already to replace it with) I haven’t done this yet, BUT I know it is possible now which makes me extreeeeeeeeeeemly happy that I know this is possible. Do i wish it was just a spring battery compartment yeah…but on how small it is…thing had to be compromised and such. Thank god it wasn’t soldered to the board! But they made it so one CAN replace the battery, with a little effort….Man oh Man do I love this! For anyone thinking about it, BUY THIS! You will not regret it!

I recently learned of NOAA radio and wanted to have one on hand for emergencies. This little device is great! Not only does it have a NOAA radio, it also has AM/FM radio and a flashlight. It can also be charged by sunlight or hand crank in addition to a standard USB C charger. I’ve been using this flashlight when I walk my dog in the evening. The wrist strap is nice, it means I’m not too worried about it slipping out of my hands. Just as advertised. Multiple power sources available, works great. Perfect size.
I really like the solar charging… can leave it on a window sill and not worry about charge level. The crank charge is nice too for when power goes out. And with the USB charge cord, I can charge it in my car as well. Perfect for emergency use! So I like the smallness, and clear sound.

However, buyer beware, it appears to be housed in cheap plastic and feels more like a kid’s toy – I’m not convinced this device will last, particularly if it did drop. It’s got three LEDs and they are bright enough. Only one mode too – it turns on and off, no modes or strobe lights, which I really appreciate. I used it two nights in a row as a flashlight without charging, but I’m not sure how long either the radio or flashlight would run in an emergency.
Also, the manual was a little unclear – it said something about using the hand crank 3-5 minutes before use. Like once? or every time I use it? Seems like a lot, but to be safe I hand crank for 30 seconds or so while leaving. The battery charging indicator light is confusing too. If you’re using a cable, the light flashes when charging, but the light remains solid when you use the crank or solar. I think most devices use a flashing light to indicate charging, so that just makes it confusing. Left on a kitchen counter in sunlight, in charging indicator light was on. I fully charged with USB after I first received it and now am trying to rely on the crank/solar to get a better understanding of how it works/how long it takes to charge/run out. I wouldn’t rely on this device for charging other devices. The battery is 2000mAh, so not enough to charge all phones to 100%, it’s good for an emergency like if you need a few % to send a text or place an emergency call. I have a much larger capacity, smaller frame battery that I keep charged for that instance.
